style home is separate to the main house. All rooms
are fully ensuite with queen size beds. Each unit
opens onto the verandah that joins the main house
via a walkway. And we also have family accommodation
which is in the main house.
All rooms are
built in that unique Queensland accommodation style,
and have queen size beds and are fully ensuite, with
fan, fridge, radio alarm and their own convenient
undercover parking facilities. The shower is a nice
big size with shower door. We can add an extra bed
to sleep an extra adult or child - a bit of a
squeeze, but OK nevertheless. Please note that the
Lodge is NOT suitable for children under ten.
Sitting on the
verandah outside the unit is an ideal location for a
quiet complimentary drink including tea, coffee,
soft drinks and beer or to watch the visiting
bird and animal life - including the flightless
cassowary, Australia's largest rainforest bird.

Included in the price is a great Tropical Breakfast.
This consists of cereal, fresh fruit salad
toast, jams, honey, cheese, salami, ham, yogurt,
muffins, tea, coffee and real 100% juice. Sue
prepares the fruit salad in the morning so it really
is fresh. Mango, melon, pawpaw, seedless grapes,
strawberries, banana, kiwi fruit, plum, apple, pear,
pomelo, grapefruit, lychee, rambutan. All the fruit
is grown locally, and as such is seasonal so you
won't always get all of the above, but pretty much
most of it.
We have a great
swimming pool with a waterfall feature. The guest
lounge has cooking facilities, and a BBQ is
available. Laundry, iron, ironing board are all
here, as is Wireless Internet access. Almost all the tour
operators pick up for free from the Lodge. We have
all 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers, and many other
DVDs. It's all here at Licuala Lodge - why stay
anywhere else ?? |
