Wartook Gardens has the Ornamental Plant Collections
Association official Victorian Hakea Collection (now
over 95 species from all over Australia). We belong
to the Australian Plant Garden Network.
Approximately
1,000 species of Australian Plants are being grown
with many Acacias, Eucalypts, Grevilleas, Hakeas,
Banksias, Dryandras, Dampieras, and representatives
of additional genera. We have collected cuttings and
seed and propogated most of the plants ourselves.
The bird life in the garden is wonderful.
The
Grampians National Park is renowned for rugged
mountain ranges and spectacular wildflower displays.
The park is nationally significant for its
extraordinary variety of native flora and fauna and
the many Aboriginal rockart sites. The massive 1670
square kilometres Park is ideal for many outdoor
recreation activities - an all seasons destination.
