In 1997 the journalists of the Queensland Sunday Mail named Das Helwig Haus the best B&B in Queensland. In 1998 SBS TV filmed their famous German Christmas Dinner feasts. Don Burke of Burkes Backyard TV fame featured their superb organic garden on national TV. On Queensland TV, Das Helwig Haus has appeared on The Great South East and Brisbane Extra. In 2005 the Premier of Queensland, the Hon. Peter Beattie presented Eberhard and Fay with the inaugural award for the best multicultural small business in Queensland.
